Description

Operates and maintains packaging department machines which include scales, conveyors, metal detectors, shakers, vertical lifts, coders, and other items. Check weighers and other related packaging equipment safely and efficiently in relation to material usage, product waste, sealing, coding, and weight control. Prospective employees will have the skills to perform set-ups and help with changeovers.

Requirements

• Retrieve packaging and raw material from storage as needed to keep the line running efficiently.
• Visually inspect boxes, cartons and bag material for printing defects.
• Ensure proper sizing of container (box).
• Observes operation of equipment and performs necessary adjustments to ensure product specifications are met to include Oxygen levels and seal integrity.
• Perform net weight control checks and make equipment adjustments to minimize give away.
• Perform metal detector checks as required to ensure product integrity.
• Perform Allergen cleaning between runs as needed.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety
• Ability to work with Allergens.
• Palletized finished cases and maintains accurate paperwork.
• Communicates any changes in product flow, equipment malfunctions, shortages, or deviations from specifications to the Production Supervisor, maintenance or other operators verbally and/or in writing.
• Assist the Production Supervisor by monitoring breaks.
• Inspects packaging, coding and seals to verify conformance to specifications and performs necessary adjustments to ensure compliance.
• Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
• Completes end-of-shift reports with all required information at shift end.
• Evaluate line worker performance and communicate observations to the supervisor, including areas for improvement.
• Monitors and encourages personnel to ensure good manufacturing practices.
• Performs light maintenance of packaging equipment and assists maintenance personnel. with adjustments and repairs.
• Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists employees in solving work problems.
• Maintains KPI Boards and other visual documentation boards.
• Strictly adheres to all company and plant policies concerning safety.
• Adhere to all company and plant policies related to GMPs.
• Performs activities of workers supervised.
